1. How to use Chameleon Powder safely

Chameleon Powder is a kind of translucent micro-flake pigments. Operators inadvertently inhaled into the lungs, will

bring corresponding harm to the body. It is suggested that operators should wear masks and rubber gloves before

mixing Chameleon Powder, open the package and gently put the required amount into the tank (barrel), then soak in

30% ethyl acetate or isopropanol for 30 minutes. It is easy to operate, but it is not suitable to mix at high speed, otherwise

the particle size of Chameleon Powder will be destroyed and its gloss will be affected.

2. How to mix Chameleon Powder with color

Gravure printing mainly uses low viscosity liquid ink. Chameleon Powder should be prepared with high transparency

binder (resin) and transparent diluent with good printing adaptability. When preparing color ink, different kinds of color i

nk should be selected according to different paper. White card and white board paper should choose pigments, and PET

composite paper should choose dye pigments. Pigments and pearlescent powder can be mixed, generally not more than

20% of the pearlescent powder. If the tone is too heavy, the pearlescent effect will be affected, because Chameleon Powder

can only have special light interference function in the light-rich ink layer, and excessive use of other colored pigments will

cause a large number of pearlescent light loss.
Method of dispensing. Dilution agent: color ink: pearlescent ink = 75:3:22, can be added or reduced according to the desired

effect of each proportion.
Operating method: First use diluent and color ink to mix (remember: to weigh to find the proportion), through scraping sample

to mix slightly deeper than the required sample, then add soaked Pearl powder, evenly stirring, etc. Pearl powder in the ink after

uniform dispersion can be used.
 

3. Rational Use of Chameleon Powder on Composite Paper

For example, in the printing of Chameleon Powder ink on PET composite paper, because of the better smoothness of the paper

surface, the transfer rate of Chameleon ink decreases during the printing process, and the covering effect is also poor, and the

print shows the color of the paper. Then in the process arrangement, we should take into account the free color sequence, printing

Chameleon ink or base oil twice, so that the effect of Chameleon light will be more distinct; without the free color sequence, we

should consider adding appropriate aluminium powder, white ink or transparent ink in Chameleon ink, so that the effect of Chameleon

 light will be slightly lost, but the covering rate will be improved.
